Toronto ABI Network Conference 2006:
"Brain Injury and Beyond: Loocking Back, Thinking Forward"

Summary:

The 2006 conference was the third bi-annual Toronto ABI Network conference and we were delighted to have registrants attending from across Ontario, from six other Canadian provinces and even one delegate who came all the way from Japan.

Brain Injury and Beyond: Looking Back, Thinking Forward was a multi-track conference featuring sessions appealing to a variety of disciplines and areas of focus. The theme of the conference provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the advances that have been made to benefit the lives of individuals who are living with the effects of an acquired brain injury, and to look towards the future direction of research, resources, clinical practice and personal journeys.

Throughout the conference, there were plenty of opportunities for delegates to meet and chat with colleagues and peers or to involve presenters in informal discussion. In addition to the 6 keynote addresses and 32 podium presentations, there were 19 poster displays set up in the main pleneary room, frequently attended by the authors to provide more detailed explanation about their presentations.

We thank you the many delegates who provided feedback, either verbally or by completing the evaluation forms. Your feedback is important and is being reviewed as we begin work planning for a successful conference in 2008.
